What are Aesthetic Injectables?
Aesthetic injectables are a broad category of medical treatments that involve the injection of substances into the skin to enhance or improve one's appearance. These minimally invasive procedures have become increasingly popular due to their ability to drastically improve one's appearance without surgery or recovery time. There are various types of cosmetic injectables available, including neurotoxins, fillers, Sculptra, and Kybella, each serving specific purposes and delivering unique benefits. Injectables are often used together as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to treat a variety of concerns including wrinkles, loss of volume, excess fat, and more.
The Benefits of Aesthetic Injections
Nonsurgical
Most injectable treatments take under an hour and require no anesthesia or downtime. For treatments like BOTOX, you can immediately go back to normal activities after treatment.
Natural Looking
Because injections don't alter your anatomy, most patients find that the results from injectables simply enhance their natural features. This makes them an ideal choice for those who want a natural, yet improved appearance.
Safe
All of the injections we offer at Be CLINICAL are FDA-approved and have undergone rigorous clinical testing. Side effects are typically minimal and adverse reactions are rare.
OTC Treatment vs Injectables
Over-the-counter topical treatments, such as creams, serums, and lotions, often claim to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture. While some of these products can provide temporary benefits through hydration and mild exfoliation, they cannot match the transformative effects of aesthetic injectables.
Injectables work underneath the skin to treat the root cause of a cosmetic concern. They provide drastic results such as wrinkle reduction, contouring, or volume enhancement that cannot be achieved with products that go on top of the skin. The results from injectables do not require daily maintenance like over-the-counter methods and allow you to look your best with or without makeup.
Surgical vs Nonsurgical Injectable Treatments
Surgical aesthetic treatments such as a facelift, tummy tuck, or implant surgery typically have to be performed under anesthesia in a hospital or outpatient surgical center and require downtime. For many, the idea of spending weeks recovering is not possible or desirable. Furthermore, the results from surgery are often either permanent or last for many years, leaving the patient with few options if they don't like the results.
Injectables offer an alternative to patients who want noticeable results but don't want to go under the knife. Most injections are performed in an office setting and require little to no downtime. The results from injections are long-lasting but not permanent, leaving patients with autonomy over their look.
What Types of Concerns Can be Treated with Aesthetic Injections
Our San Ramon & San Francisco Bay Area injectable treatments can treat a variety of concerns, including…
Expression Lines and Wrinkles
Lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes are caused by repeated muscle movement. Neurotoxins like BOTOX or Dysport can relax these muscles and smooth fine lines.
Lower and Midface Wrinkles
Wrinkles around the mouth and cheeks are caused by fat loss that comes with aging. Dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane can instantly retore volume where wrinkles are and smooth the skin.
Excess Fat
Stubborn fat under the chin, around the abdomen, or in other areas of the body can be genetic. Kybella is the only injectable that can permanently remove and eliminate fat cells in targeted areas.
Facial Contouring
Prominent cheeks and a defined jawline are the hallmarks of a beautiful look. Dermal fillers can be used to add volume to undefined areas of the face without the need for surgery.
Thin Lips
Dermal fillers can restore volume and/or enhance the size and shape of the lips. For those with lips that aren't proportional, Botox can slightly flip the upper lip to create. a more even appearance.
Aging Skin
The breakdown of different cellular processes causes the most common signs of aging like wrinkles, loose skin, and hollow areas. Sculptra is an injectable that can stimulate your body's own collagen production to reverse and slow down the signs of aging.

FAQ
What is getting injectables like?
Different types of patients will benefit from different injectables or combinations of injectables. Before any treatment at Be CLINICAL you will meet with an experienced medical aesthetic provider who will evaluate your skin, goals, and lifestyle. We will develop a customized plan that will give you the most optimal results. Most injectable treatments are fast and take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Depending on the type of treatment you receive, your provider may administer a topical numbing cream to make sure you are comfortable throughout the injection process.
Aftercare for injections differs based on the area(s) injected and the type of product used. For most injectable treatments, patients can return to their normal activities within a few hours to days.
What to Expect Post Treatment?
The results timeline for different injectables is as follows:
- Neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin): Patients will begin to notice lines smooth after 72 hours. However, optimal results are seen about 2 weeks after treatment after the medication has taken full effect.
- Dermal Fillers (Juvederm and Restylane): Dermal filler patients will see an immediate improvement in their skin following treatment. If swelling is present, results can usually be seen after 4-6 days.
- Kybella: Patients typically need 2-4 Kybella treatments in an area to see results. After each treatment, fat cells are gradually eliminated from the body. The best results are typically seen one month after the final treatment.
- Sculptra: Sculptra may provide an immediate improvement in the skin's volume, however the best results are seen after the collagen-stimulating properties of this injection have taken place. You will see a noticeable improvement in your skin after a few months.

These effects should dissipate within hours to days following treatment.
